• Pine dunes, ocean views, extensive travel, and an innovative outlook towards life are only some of the inspirations for the pottery of Howard and Ali Shapiro. The Shapiro’s create unique, individually designed stoneware, porcelain and raku pieces that are simultaneously artistic and elegantly functional. All of the ceramic materials (except raku) are food safe. Howard and Ali’s studio and showroom comprise the bottom level of their home in the Heceta Beach area of Florence. This ingenious couple periodically teach pottery onboard Princess Cruises and run workshops at their studio. Howard teaches a wheel throwing class at Lane Community College, Florence.
